Dodge is emerging as a leading manufacturer in the US minivan segment, with sales for the marque exceeding its competitor by almost 1,000 units for the year to date.
According to industry magazine Automotive News 92,930 Dodge Grand Caravan cars had been sold in 2011 up until October.
The people mover's closest competition - the Toyota Sienna - sold 91,955 units by comparison, after experiencing months of car parts shortages due to the Japanese earthquake.
US News reported that the minivan class has become more competitive since this year, "with car companies adding high-tech features, building luxurious interiors and focusing on improving performance".
In response to the increasing competition, the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan offers one of the lowest starting prices in the segment.
Other highlights of the Dodge car include a practical and comfortable interior, extensive cargo space and strong crash test ratings.
While the Dodge Grand Caravan is currently not available in Australia, the 2012 Dodge Journey offers the local market the versatility of seating seven while still maintaining the marque's renowned style and comfort.
Available in both the R/T and SXT models, the 2012 Dodge Journey offers the signature cross-hair grille, alloy wheels, stadium seating within the car and All-speed Traction Control as standard.
